Board of Supervisors

Rudy Molera

Rudy Molera was elected to the Santa Cruz County Board of Supervisors on November 4, 2008, to represent Supervisorial District #2.  He is responsible for creating and adhering to by-laws as determined by the State legislature.  Under its legislative authority, the boards of supervisors appoint representation to other boards and commissions, adopt a county budget, pass resolutions and enact ordinances and regulations as authorized by state law. 

Rudy was born and raised in Nogales, Arizona.  He has lived in Santa Cruz County all his life. He graduated from Nogales High School in 1979.  He received his Associates of Arts Degree from Pima Community College; a Bachelors of Science from the University of Arizona; a Masters in Counseling from the University of Phoenix; completed an Administrative Certification program at the University of Northern Arizona, and has attended the Hogan Real Estate School.

Rudy is married and has one son.  His wife, Joan Molera, is the Principal at Desert Shadows Middle School.  Their son, Jacob, is 6 years old and attends Bracker Elementary School.

Rudy worked at Nogales High School for 16 years as a counselor, teacher, and coach.  Prior to his role as Supervisor, he assumed the role of Project Manager for Alleare, LLC Construction firm.  He facilitated the building of affordable housing for community residents.

Rudy has continually contributed to the community.  He has helped develop kids in sports and clubs which impact generations to come.  He has also served on the Board of the Nogales/Santa Cruz County Chamber of Commerce.  He organized a Thanksgiving dinner for needy families.

He plans to incorporate what he has learned through his previous work and volunteer experiences in order to better serve the community in his current role.
