John Maynard

John Maynard was elected to the Santa Cruz County Board of Supervisors in November 2000. He represents District 3, which includes the communities of Sonoita, Patagonia, Tubac and eastern Rio Rico. John has lived in all these communities, except Tubac. This experience has made him familiar with the unique needs and concerns of each of these diverse areas. Previously he served Santa Cruz County as the Director of the Planning and Zoning Department until 1994.

He holds a Bachelor's Degree from Hobart College and a Masters from Cal Poly's School of Environmental Design. He has also received certification as a Public Manager (CPM) from Arizona State University.

John is married to Mary Helen Maley and is the father of Beardslee who is attending Northern Arizona University. He has worked in Santa Cruz County since 1985 and currently resides in Rio Rico.

John is a member of Rotary International and the Arizona Planning Association.
